Elspeth had no clue in her mind, where she was, or for that matter where she was going, but it was as if this place had drawn her. Even now she felt as though two strings had tied themselves around her feet and marched her to this certain spot, but the purpose of this journey she had still not discovered. As she had marched through the forest, and into the open space she had not once reached for the cane that swung loosely from her belt, although she could not see, her feet had found the right spot to land everytime.
Elspeth sighed dreamily, and let her arms slip to her sides and brush the delicate petals with the edges of her fingertips. The soft, velvety petals felt glourious beneath her soft, ivory fingers, and she wished now more than ever that she could look at the flowers she now touched.
The mood of the day, was almost....waiting....as if something was about to happen, nothing stirred, none of the usual sounds filled Elspeth's ears, she expected to hear the croak of frogs and the buxx of cicada's but instead only silence.
Elspeth sighed and stopped, suddenly realizing just how tired she was. She must have been walking for at least 3 hours. Groaning she sank to the ground, and began to unlace the heavy boots that incased her feet. As she slipped them off, she squealed in delight and stripped off the heavy wollen socks as well, she had not had time alone like this for many a year, she was always too busy running after peoples commands.
Elspeth sighed, and shook her head.
You are ever so boring Elspeth, will you not ever find your own personality? Or are you destined to be a runabout spaniel for the rest of your life. Blind girls are not disables, sight is not required to be clever, or beautiful or....or....
She stopped mid sentence, glad she was alone for she must have looked a right fool to anyone who was watching. She scowled and shook her head once more. It was not until then, that she realized she DID like being a runabout spaniel....it was safe, and she didn't have to do anything besides following instructions. She disliked more than ever being scolded, so maybe that was why she had chosen this life.
Still pondering this question, she allowed her body to fall limply to the ground, laying very still for a moment, before shifting herself into a more comfortable position.
Elspeth smiled, and allowed the warm sun rays to beat upon her face, she knew she musn't stay for long, but she just couldn't drag herself away from the delicious feel of the sun upon her skin. She began to hum a tune to herself, at first it was seemingly meaningless, but without knowing before long she had turned the single notes into a melody, that tripped and fell over her tounge, and she realized it had been an age since she had sung, and her tounge felt too big and clumsy to produce any real music.
But ignoring that, she continued to persist, letting the tunes roll over her vocal chords until she was happy then began to apply words, before long she was singing a rollocking song, that she thought would be quite fitting for a sea journey...
Oh I would love saucy sailor boy,
To keep on boards my boat.
With golden locks and golden skin,
He would be my prize to boast.
His deep blue eyes that matched the sea,
Would sweep across the land.
But the only love they would behold is me!
Elspeth giggled at herself, she would love to go visit that sailor boy, with his golden skin and blue eyes. Elspeth thought the notes sounded quite nice coming from her mouth and wondered if she should start singing again?
OOC: Was bored, and yes. I made up that pathetic 'sea shanty' if you can call it that.
